I'm in victoria!

y'know that feeling of awe you get when you see something really, really beautiful, ie a sky full of stars on a very clear night? I got that feeling again and again for a few hours in a row this evening, wandering around beacon hill park and downtown vic. Oh, and stoners kept coming up to me to say hi, exchanging names, and suggesting places in town I should visit. I love this city! love!

the shape of my heart

so, I'm probably gonna go in for heart surgery. That's pretty sweet. It seems I've got exceptionally leaky valves, or something like that. Really, is life complete without open heart surgery? I'm just assuming this qualafies as "open". anyone more knowledgeable, feel free to correct me.

In other news, still haven't heard back from mike sullivan about the maid job. Hope that works out. Haven't heard from Troy about the apartment either, hope that works out. I have a backup plan, though. Apartment hunting for a few days as originally intended. And maybe I can work on a construction site. Stranger things have happened.

I've gotten accepted into uvic and uvic housing. I was already partially accepted, and I'm still not fully accepted. I guess this is lvl 3 or something.

I failed my latest roadtest. That means I probably won't have a chance to try it again for about 12 months. Not that I was gonna use it in the next 12 months anyway, but it would have been nice to be nagged about one fewer things.

I've had an interesting week, all in all. I hope next week is as exciting.

recommended music: anything by joe wilson, and anything by Feeling Left Out, his band.

Also, "download this song" by mc lars. kinda cheesy, but it made me smile.

I'm done 3 of 4 exams. just matrix algebra left, which will be incredibly easy. I do believe I have such grades as to validate my conditional acceptance. And that's lovely.

My roadtest is next wednesday at 1. I leave for victoria next friday or saturday. This is all terribly exciting.

Anyone I can crash on the couch of in victoria while apartment searching?

deedle deedle dee...

I'm moving to victoria in two weeks! isn't that exciting?

Yes, yes of course it is. I can hardly wait to spend days off chasing small defenseless animals through beacon hill park, and whatever else people do in victoria for laughs.

oh, and I have two exams left, matrix algebra and calculus. Both are going to be really easy, so I'm in a perpetual state of math related ecstasy. I finish exams on friday at 12. I think I'll have some kind of incredibly tasty grilled sandwich, to celebrate.

That is all. Good day.

Andrew! you swore a blog update! vendatta upon your lack of blog update! vendatta!

It's the night before two final exams, 1:37am in the morning, first exam at 9. I'm taking the 7:40 bus, going for breakfast, then cramming a bit before the exam.

I've done a bit of studying, really. Just not, y'know, much. I think it'll be fine, though. I got a B- last year, and the new teacher can't have screwed around with the tests too much, right? he's way too lazy to carefully write a new test, so he'll either modify last years, or write a new one without taking into account what year of engineering we're in. man, that's one grumbly class. especially mike. or 'downer', as I like to call him, when studying.

I feel good. really good. I've been listening to music all day, mostly sublime, bob marley, our lady peace, some other stuff that goes groovy with that. eating sushi with my neighbour, and what with my parents out of town, wandering around the house in a casual state of dress, absorbing tranquility through all of my unirritated senses.

I should crash at the end of the song.

don't worry, be happy

I don't like the way this fellow poses.

In other monkey news, I often have reason to doubt my own eyes. I saw a woman in the mall today in a large blue sweater, with four (4!) breasts. two in the regular place (more or less), and two about 10 cm below those. I don't know what it was I saw, but it's unlikely that quad-boobed women presently walk the earth. with the porn I've seen, I would have heard about it by now.

Oh, and there's also a new store in woodgrove I like. I don't care what they sell, but they have just about the right number of mannequins. many, that is. at floor-level, so that you can interact with them, not up on tables as some stores unfairly do. Oh, and some store had a british police-mannequin.

In further news, what a lovely drink I had the night before last. Well, actually, beer still tastes like piss. The point is, I didn't clean anything up. Thanks dennis!
