mac was on reading break, so he was up in nanaimo. on saturday morning, we went to victoria and met richard (3rd year geology guy from england) and went drinking. it was merry, although we listened to some really disturbing country music.
I've heard that age-ism is a growing problem in the world. age-ism being a poorly constructed word for hating people for being old (or young). I suspect I'm guilty of that, because I just don't think it's right for anyone as old as janet panic to be singing that explicetly about herself having sex. old people having sex scares me so, so much. she also sang a song about having too many keys on her keychain. it was deep.
I owe mac a bunch of money (I'll guess $80) for the weekend. I was practically broke when it started, so he payed most of my way, including drinking.
12 + 12 (ferry rides)
5 + 5 (meals) (had chinese fast food. the kind they have in asia, though, not the north american kind. most of it was good, although I had one item that was kinda greasy. it was affordable, too. a heaping plate of meat and vegges, 2-3 cups of rice, and free water/tea for $4.5)
3 (soda)
4.5 (busfare)
30??? (drinks)
so that's about $70. not certain how much money I drank, though.
I worked last night. it's so neat, the idea of actually getting a paycheck. it looks like I might be getting more work now. all that procrastinating and not quitting my job to get one with better hours is paying off, it seems. also, I didn't want to quit another job. my job history doesn't look great on a resume.
- a month of window washing. no phone number for leggos. joe probably went out of business, but I wouldn't get a good reference there. fun job, but short.
- rmh/nco: quit 2 days after the 3 weeks fulltime training ended. it was great.
- mcdonalds: quit without 2 weeks notice to work at tim hortons.
- tim hortons: july to present. not bad so far.
so yeah, those first three each lasted about (maybe a bit less than) a month. I guess it's not so bad, since they're fast food jobs. still, I want something that looks a bit more long lasting on my resume.
just did that comp sci midterm. it was swell. I did the exam in half an hour, checked it over about 5 times for the next half hour, then left to come here to type away on my blog.
note to self: do your research essay murray. you only have 1 week left.
note to everybody else: how ya doin? you feeling okay? would you like a cookie?
